Business Insider created this useful inforgraphic that easily shows consumers the longevity of food. While many consumers toss away food or store products improperly, this guide aims to eliminate the amount of wasted food by educating consumers.

This chart is easy to read and uses playful illustrations accompanied with direct information that is informative without being overbearing. This food longevity guide is presented in the form of three columns that focus on food in the fridge, freezer and pantry.

Each section hones in on commonly purchased items such as condiments and canned foods. Another interesting aspect to this chart is that it provides information about storing food in different places. For example, consumers are able to store eggs, milk, wine and other edible products in the freezer in order to extend the shelf life.
