The Flapps Shelving System is one way to ensure that people don’t take up space in their home unnecessarily. As living areas become smaller in correlation with the rapidly increasing world population, it is only natural that designers continue to create furniture pieces that utilize square footage in a clever and creative manner. In this case, it involves modular elements that fold up and down as needed.

Designed by Ambivalenz, a studio based in Berlin, Germany, the Flapps Shelving System is made up of shelves of three, shelves of two, a larger surface that can be used as a desk, a smaller cubic surface and a single shelf. All of the pieces can be stacked and are available in black and white.
