The U.S. National Park Service wants to add a luxury hotel to one of the world’s most famous islands: Alcatraz. Plans are to offer accommodations like the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park.

Alcatraz has a notorious reputation. Al Capone was the most infamous resident of the prison. Already the second most popular tourist attraction in San Francisco, next to the cable cars, people want to see more of the islands but are at the mercy of the ferry service schedule.
