It seems the pages of a dictionary have yet another purpose besides extending an individual’s vernacular or vocabulary; this is all due to the work of Etsy Seller ‘popcapopca.' This unique art series uses vintage dictionary pages and embellishes them with whimsical and bizarre doodles. These free-hand drawn illustrations are created on antique pages using acrylic paint and ink prints, which contrast beautifully with the old style dictionary paper.

Many of the drawings illustrated revolve around recognizable pop culture references and symbols such as Darth Vader and Michael Jordan slam-dunking. Normally, one wouldn’t think a dictionary could be this cool, well artist popcapopca has certainly proven that dictionaries can be funky.

With such a vast collection featured on Etsy, it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite; although, who says you have to? Stats for Vintage Dictionary Doodles Trending: Older & Warm
