Charitable Emma Watson Fashion Line for People Tree

British actress Emma Watson has been making her mark on the fashion for some time now, even landing the coveted Fall Burberry ads. So it was only natural that rumors started circulating about an Emma Watson fashion line. Yet she set the record straight on USA Today, stating, “I’m not a designer. If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I’d consider it, but not just [to be able to say] ‘Look at me! I’ve got my own line!’”

Did she know then that a cause would come about? I wonder. ‘Cause it has just been announced that there will be an Emma Watson fashion line—for People Tree, ‘the fair trade fashion pioneer.’

Commenting on the development of an Emma Watson fashion line, and her collaboration with People Tree, she reveals, “I wanted to help People Tree produce a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with.” The line will launch in February 2010.
