DuckDuckGo, a specialty Internet search engine that focuses on privacy and recommendation algorithm resistance, has launched a new Email Protection feature that provides users with a free “@duck.com” email address that sends emails to your actual email inbox after scanning their content for trackers.
The DuckDuckGo email is meant to be used as a disposable email address that you can give out for free trials, newsletters, or anywhere you might suspect that your address will be tracked. If the email address becomes, comprised users can easily deactivate it.
“Our high-level goal is to make simple privacy protection available for everyone anywhere they are,” said CEO Gabriel Weinberg. "So we’re trying to build this into any major browser or operating system or email provider you use.”
