First Ever Beauty Pageant for Elephants Held in Nepal

This unusual and uncommon beauty pageant for elephants took place in the Chitwan district of Kathmandu, Nepal. The Regional Hotel Association of Sauraha organised the three day event to promote tourism in Nepal.

A total of six elephants took part in the first ever beauty contest at the International Elephant Festival, which attracted thousands of visitors. A 28-year-old elephant named Chanchalkali was declared winner.
