Home improvement powerhouse Home Depot has launched Eco-Options in the U.S. Available in Canada since 2004, the program helps customers identify products which have less of an impact on the environment. The Eco-Options label is found on items such as cleaners, natural insect repellants, plant food and front-loading washing machines.
Implications - Today's consumer is constantly seeking new ways to display environmental concern, and thus, is expecting the same form their purchases or go-to brands. Smart companies like Home Depot have delved into this need regardless of whether or not the Home Depot company is already well established. Small companies can learn from this example, and are advised to never stop progressing.
