East Van Roasters is a socially conscious cafe that provides employment and skill-building opportunities for women who are transitioning back into the workforce. Located in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside neighborhood, which is known for its regulated drug use, Managing Director Shelley Bolton says, "We offer opportunities that are life-altering and lasting by providing a compassionate and dignified work environment."

A non-profit company that focuses on fair trade coffee beans and cacao from around the world, East Van Roasters is located in the Rainier Hotel, a facility providing treatment for addiction for marginalized women. In addition to its admirable social efforts, East Van Roasters provides locals with quality coffee and chocolates that are gaining momentum in the city center.
