French designer Florian Dussopt creates an experimental concept called the 'Em Table.' The concept table is a localized electromagnetic field-producing object. The design is extremely innovative as the electromagnetic field has the ability to convert an invisible energy source into an energy source that is visible to the human eye: light. When the table is switched on, the electromagnetic field automatically lights up surrounding fluorescent tubes.
The aim of Dussopt's experiment is to explore alternative forms of energy sources including possibilities that have the potential to be actualized by invisible forces like magnetic fields.
The table is installed with an electronic circuit that converts low electrical currents into an electromagnetic field that acts as the fuel for the fluorescent lights that surround the table.
