 Dr. Says Pointy Ears Work Better Dr. Lajos Nagy is, let’s say, a creative guy who describes his surgical procedure as a “newfangled extravagance (that) is spreading amongst the music-lover youngsters of New York.” He claims that his operation improves hearing, because all animals that depend on good hearing have pointy ears, and is so popular that “in big cities so-called Faun-Clubs are founded one after another.” If nothing else, this guy has a lot of chutzpah, and this is probably no worse than somebody getting the name of their girl/boyfriend tattooed on their arm. Dr. Nagy’s website states that he is now introducing the procedure to Europe, starting with his native Hungary. You gotta wonder if he isn’t fleeing the US.
