A startup called ContextMedia is on a mission to improve doctor-patient relationships by creating digital waiting room displays that show relevant content instead of regular television programs. The idea is to give patients information that is relevant to their health and wellbeing in order to help them feel more confident and informed when seeing their doctor.

While still in the early stages, ContextMedia plans to create futuristic waiting rooms by convincing doctors to install digital screens in their waiting rooms that will display relevant healthcare information. Patients will also have access to complimentary WiFi that will allow physicians to send relevant updates. Finally, patients will be able to use educational tablets that provide more information about different medical conditions. Instead of merely helping patients kill time in the waiting room, ContextMedia's goal is to provide them with relevant information about their health that will subsequently help improve doctor-patient relationships.
