This is one controversial cosmetic surgery worth a mention. Trend Hunter likes to keep ahead of the latest beauty trends, and that includes covering topics like the “designer vagina” featured in the Sun Times. Women are enduring all sorts of modifications down below, including tightening, labial reductions, clitoral enhancements and G spot augmentations, all to beautify their womanhood. Many females have complexes when it comes to the appearance of their vaginas, and this low self-esteem can really put a damper on their sex lives. It isn’t one of the most common cosmetic surgeries yet, but it is rising abruptly in popularity, fueled partially by frequent media coverage. It’s a risky surgery that many doctors advise against, and it’s causing increasing concerns from gynecologists. Imagine how much more self conscious a sexually insecure woman would feel after a botched vaginal surgery. Besides risk of major infection other things that can go wrong include scarring, loss of sensation, or pain during intercourse. “A woman who doesn’t like how her vagina looks should be reassured that normal genitals vary ‘significantly from woman to woman,’” the Sun Times reported. “And if she’s having trouble in bed, she should try counseling, the gynecologists group said.” Popular between-the-legs surgeries include vaginal rejuvenation (tightening), temporary G-spot amplification (through collagen injections), re-virgination (creating a false membrane) and labiaplasty (inner-lip reduction.)
 Now, women are getting genital makeovers for nonmedical reasons, in part because they've seen the procedures featured on plastic surgery reality shows such as "Dr. 90210'' and the soap opera "Nip/Tuck.''
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons counted 1,000 vaginal rejuvenations last year, up from 793 in 2005. This represents less than 1/10th of 1 percent of the 1.8 million cosmetic procedures last year. But the actual number is almost certainly higher. The society counted only one type of cosmetic procedure, and did not count procedures done by gynecologists and urologists.
