‘Depression Cooking With Clara’ is a YouTube cooking show headed up by 93-year-old Clara Cannucciari. She’s no stranger to making hearty meals with a lean budget; Cannucciari shares stories about her childhood during the Great Depression in each of her cooking shows.

‘Depression Cooking With Clara’ is a look back into a simpler time, before we were spoiled with the luxuries of fast food, five-star meals and delivery pizza. Cannucciari’s childhood was a much more frugal time, and perhaps that’s why her YouTube show has become so popular. We could all use a Clara Cannucciari in our world, reminding us that life’s pleasures are often the simplest, like the hot bowl of pasta with peas she shares in her inaugural episode below.
