There's always a reason why people build things, but in the case of this Dead Space Plasma Cutter, it doesn't matter, because it's simply amazing.

Created by Patrick Priebe of LASER GADGETS, this real-life imitation of the Necromorph slicing weapon also emits a powerful laser. It's not as powerful as the actual weapon in the video game, but it's a very close second. Just like the in-game Plasma Cutter, this version also possesses the same articulations as the the one seen in the game.

The laser-powered machine runs on 3x 14500 and 1x 18650 Li Ion cells and has 1,500-milliwatt that emit a blue laser for burning. The parts are all handmade, which just makes this machine even more amazing. This laser emitter is available for purchase, but just remember to mindful about aiming.
