This new hi-tech dog collar from Boston-based SNIF Labs is a fantastic tool to help fellow-dog walkers connect and forge friendships.

Each of these SNIF Tags emits a unique signal that is sensed by SNIF Tags worn by other dogs. The collar tracks your dog’s daily movements and social interactions, then the information automatically uploads into the accompanying base station, which stays plugged into the owner’s PC at home.

You can then log in and view the profiles of the owners of those dogs that your pooch has chosen as his or her preferred puppy playmates, and you can get in touch with them if you want to.

Pretty clever. Like a nanny cam without the camera. You can check up on your dog walker or doggy daycare.
