With Criminalsearches.com you can do a quick background check on anyone for free and find out if they have a criminal record. Drunk drivers, sex offenders, violent criminals, thieves, they are all there.

In the sex offenders section, they give a list of those living in your street or zip code area, complete with a photo, distinguishing marks and last known address.

You can also sign up for criminal alerts and track up to five names for free and receive email updates when any of their details change.  If you want a more detailed report the site takes you to Peoplefinders.com to purchase a report but these are relatively inexpensive. 

Personally, CriminalSearches.com is one site that I love and hate.  On the one hand I don´t want to find out that where I live is filled with criminals and sex offenders, but on the other, if I was looking for a flatmate, babysitter or someone to renovate my house, it would be the first place I would go.
