 Return of the Corset Whether they be the celebrated curve exaggerations or the dreaded body squeezers, corsets have always been iconic and synonymous with the female form. They exaggerate the hour-glass figure associated with the ideal female form,: a large bust with tiny waist and curvaceous hips. 21-year-old costume design student, Carly Van Groeningen, partakes in private corset-making classes. Why? Because she loves the challenge and the precision involved in corsetry.
 Aris Cologon, 20, model and client of Melinda Hanley, wears Hanley’s steel-boned black silk under-bust corset with white lace hooked busk and back ribbon lacing, for dayor evening wear. Hanley wears her own chalk-striped suiting fabric under-bust corset with waist tie detail.
