Swiss oral care company CURAPROX presents the Samba, which is a novel robotic toothbrush that is meant to help those with disabilities brush their teeth without having to move their hands. It has 12,900 soft bristles that carefully oscillate at a low frequency on the tooth to mimic the act of a brushing motion.
This adds an independent nature to oral care as the company found that about 88% of those who disabilities will encounter dental problems. Eran Eyal, one of the creators of the Samba states, “Samba was developed with the belief that everyone, regardless of their abilities, deserves a healthy mouth; having a disability should not stand in the way of good oral hygiene."
