Kuija Studios has presented their new concept, the Smartchef, as the future of home cooking. The design incorporates a touchscreen, a cutting board, and food scale and measure. While only a concept, Kuija is offering a cutting edge (pun intended) advance in the way technology can aid in the kitchen. The touchscreen is removable (to be used in other parts of the house as well) and would be able to provide recipes, nutritional information, even recommendations and warnings about the ingredients and meal. The technology isn’t quite here yet to manage this. The idea of having a touchscreen right next to raw wet food and sharp objects isn’t perfect, but we can definitely see this taking off once science matches demand.  The system is designed to help amateur chefs get more out of their time in the kitchen by hooking them up with recipes, local food sources and and menu and diet guidance.
