3D-Printed Origami Illuminators

The 'Conductive Origami' Lamps Have a Folding Aesthetic

The 'Conductive Origami' lamps are part of a new project by Israel-based industrial designer Yael Akirav that merges a number of different design capabilities for a truly impressive final product.

The lamps feature an origami-inspired design that has been 3D-printed with a conductive material that enables each one to deliver a soft level of illumination. Users only need to expand the accordion-style components and connect them to the opposing end to start the illumination or unfurl them to stop it.

The 'Conductive Origami' lamps have been designed in an array of styles including a tabletop, floor and wall-mounted varieties. Each one highlights an interactive design that encourages inhabitants to be more fully in touch with the decor in their home.
