Planet Repair Institute in Portland, Oregon, helps communities take action locally with 'placemaking' projects that have the potential for cumulative global impact. At this year's Village Building Convergence (an annual event), the group built Portland's first elevated, spherical, solar-powered cob chicken palace.

Cob construction is mud architecture similar to adobe and is one of the world's oldest building methods. Applying the technique to Village Building Convergence's artful little cob chicken house gave a very pleasing result. I'd like to have a larger version for my dog.
