Hong-En Lin Emphasizes the Importance of Clean Water Access

Clean water access is crucial for human survival and unfortunately, some communities around the world do not have this privilege due to poor infrastructure or disasters caused by the impeding force of climate change. Many architects are trying to provide viable solutions in the built environment to address such issues and designer Hong-En Lin focused namely on clean water access in this project.
Hong-En Lin thoughtfully proposes the use of local materials and traditional weaving techniques. While this brings down the cost of building the structure, the employment of traditional weaving also invites locals into the project. This effectively builds a sense of community.
The main feature of the house design is the roof which harnesses its wooden structure and a built0-in weaving device to collect dew and rainwater which eventually goes through a filtration system.
