We saw indications of the potential bike shorts fad on several different runways, but I think it’s safe to say that the fad is here.

Beginning with Alexander Wang, many other designers and brands have jumped onto the “bike shorts as a layering piece,” train. The very tight, chic shorts are a sporty/sexy mix that just seem to catch the eye and keep it fixated.

The gallery features a Fall 08 piece from Miu Miu, Spring 09 pieces from Micheal Kors and Abaete, Pre-Fall 09 pieces from Alexander Wang and a resort 09 piece from Prada.

I would have just called these above-the-knees capris, but Andrew, you bring up a good point: they DO look like bike shorts!!
