Architectural studio Wallmakers unveils the new Chuzhi house, which has a new overlooking site located in Shoolagiri, India. The home has a spiraling construction and was previously deemed a 'wasted space' that is not suitable for a building. The studio pivoted and turns it into a new topography by creating a new structure that blends into the landscape rather than dominates it.
Vinu Daniel, founder of the studio explains the process, stating that "The design and dimensions were derived entirely from the position of the trees and the rock formation on the site. We were extremely mindful of the fact that we would be the first ones to construct in this virgin landscape and wanted to hide the building. More importantly, we wanted it to merge into the landscape."
