Semi-Billowing Typography

Chemical Cloud by Jose Bernabe is Unexpectedly Artistic

Chemical Cloud is the name of a stunning type that combines colorful billows of clouds with the classic Sans-Serif type. By juxtaposing the two, there is a tension between nature and man that is reflected beautifully in the design of such a font. Although that might not have been the intention behind such a creation, it is hard not to be drawn to such a sentiment.

Designed by José Bernabé, a graphic designer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the Chemical Cloud font is full of psychedelic gradients. Yet what makes it stand out is the tragic name of the font. Chemical Cloud brings to mind something toxic that will pollute the earth. Of course, the aesthetic of the type is more innocent than that.
