The 12th edition of Kinfolk Magazine, titled 'The Saltwater Issue,' features the 'The Lingering Salt of Sweat' editorial by photographer Charlie Schuck. Most of us are familiar with the feeling of the ocean's salt crystals being caked onto our skin by the sun's heat, a remnant of the day. Styled by Ashley Helvey, this series is based on the physical residue that a trip to the seaside will leave behind.
The editorial uses simple color palettes and silhouettes, allowing the clinging salt crystals to really stand out, almost resembling snow flakes. They caress the model's arms, kiss the tops of their heads and linger on their eye lashes with a delicate purposefulness.
Schuck's work will bring forth fond memories of family trips and romantic getaways, imbuing the photographs with a quiet sense of nostalgia for summers past.
