The novelty behind the extra sour, liquid-filled Camel Balls chewing gum is not purely its rare taste.

The clearly illustrated camel testicles shown on the box can help sell these treats to all sorts of twisted markets. This not-so-subtle marketing stunt seems to work well with a typically low-priced impulse buy, which I’m sure will reward the manufacturers well.

Since it’s only the name and packaging of Camel Balls chewing gum that might be construed as offensive, it’s hard to fault the manufacturers, as a more generic name would probably result in far fewer sales.
