In yet another crushing blow to pop culture this week, Billy Mays III (@youngbillymays) broke the news of his famous pitchman father’s death this morning.

What’s chilling, however, is that news reports say that the Tampa Fire Rescue pronounced Billy Mays dead at 7:45 AM on Sunday morning. The Twitter update posted by Billy Mays III was time-stamped just minutes later.

Billy Mays III’s Twitter update read: “My dad didn’t wake up this morning.. I’m sure you’ll all hear about it. It hasn’t yet hit me but it’s about to.”
