With a highly unconventional look for a ski lodge, the Big Sky Ski Lodge design by Nikita Troufanov is certainly not the usual wooden log adobe.

For those who are as fond of après-ski as they are of the actual sport, this design is the perfect hybrid. It entirely changes the notion of chilly getaway lodging with its decidedly nontraditional aesthetic.

Architectural publication Evolo explains that "Hospitality and patrol programs are overlapped and placed in spatial tension against each other through connecting views and geometry." The structure looks beyond futuristic with its sleek yet sensual structurally cavernous form. With varied levels, and leaning design Troufanov's design resembles an aircraft and almost appears to be airborne.

The burgeoning architect certainly seems to have an eye for modernism fused with sleek functionality.
