Designer Phil Davidson participated in this year's International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City, where he revealed his bright and boldly colored upcycled barrel furniture pieces. These amazing pieces of furniture range in colors of bright yellow, blue, red and pink.

The assortment of tables and chairs were created in The Urbanite Home which is a Belfast-based interior furnishings studio. The long-lasting durable material makes the barrel furniture suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

After collecting oil barrels from local companies and businesses like automotive garages, Davidson drains and carefully cleans them. When they are clean, the barrels are cut to maintain their original integrity but become more suitable for practical use. Any pieces that are not used in the finished barrel furniture product can be recycled.

Davidson has found the ultimate purpose for old discarded oil barrels in the form of modern upcyced furniture pieces that are sure to spark conversation.
