These obviously aren’t real bandages. These rather poetic and brilliantly designed “Bandages for the Heart” by Alyssa Dee Krauss are brooches meant to be worn as badges of honor.

If you’ve been through a tough time and come out a winner, wearing one of these signifies healing and self-empowerment. Or perhaps you wish to declare your support for victims of tragedy.

A poignant gift for anyone you consider a survivor or a hero, these Bandages for the Heart come in steel-and-sterling-silver, or 18k gold, and range in price from $250-1100.

Flip the 3-inch brooch over to find, right where it fits over your heart, a garnet cabochon. And remember the little red string you would tug at to release a Band-Aid from its wrapper? Each Bandage comes rolled up in white gauze, and secured with a red string accentuated with a garnet drop. Already sold out are the wedding band versions.
