Apple is on the forefront of the next phase in digital appliances with the Apple-licensed Made for iPod Gorenje refrigerator. After downloading the iGorenj app for the iPod touch and iPhone, users can control the Gorenj line of appliances.

A home server controls the Gorenj fridge, washing machine and oven. This means that any web device on your home Wi-Fi network can be used to program the appliances. For the Gorenje refrigerator, for example, the iPhone or iPod touch dock can control temperature settings, stream music and play content on the devices. The Gorenj oven can be programmed by selecting a recipe from the database; a specific type of cake, for example, will cook at the right temperature for the proper length of time after the recipe is chosen.
