Design team Jaime Hayon and Nienke Klunder combined two usually separate ideas for their American Chateau exhibit: European style and the American West.

The combinations of Hummers, American flags, classical architecture, modern design and cowboy paraphernalia form a whimsical series of tableware. American Chateau is a truly original exhibit, and these plates are a highlight of the inspiration behind it.

Implications - Patriotism is a perennial source of design inspiration for creatives in every industry and niche, but there's more to this phenomenon than Uncle Sam and red, white and blue. Modern Americana draws on classic themes but reworks them by blending separate influences from several eras in U.S. history, including the present.
