Alvin Huang is a designer at Synthesis Design + Architecture who has recently created an alien-looking rocking chair. Shaped like an egg and taking on an intricately textured surface, it is made using 3D-printing technology. Alvin Huang is yet another creative showing what this tech is bringing to the table when it comes to unique designs.

With its ombre color gradient that goes from white to blue, the chair, which has been dubbed Durotaxis, is a work of art. Alvin Huang even made the design versatile. It can be sat in while upright on laying vertically on the ground. Design Taxi notes that the piece of "furniture is thicker and harder where it has to be, while being thinner and softer in other areas—this aspect of its design makes it practically impossible to produce without a 3D-printer.È
