The reconstructed Aluminaire House in California was unveiled at the Palm Springs Art Museum. This was a modernist house that was originally created in the 30s by Albert Frey and A Lawrence Kocher. The house has relocated from upstate New York to Palm Springs, where there are plans to showcase and preserve the home.
Leo Marmol from Marmol Radziner led a team to reassemble the home in California. Marmol was a personal friend of Frey's and so this project felt like a closer honor to the late architect and his legacy. Marmol explains this to Dezeen, stating "I knew him personally while he was still alive, and he has had such an important impact on Palm Springs. I saw this project as a tribute to his legacy."
