Music can reach across cultures and unite even the most unlikely of foes. Gregory Warner, an independent radio reporter and writer, documented his travels through Afghanistan. In an attempt to relate to a culture via accordion, he discovered a lost sense of connection to the West.
The best part of the above video is the ending in which Warner serenades a group of people with Johnny Cash’s "Ring of Fire." Regardless of the fact that no one understood English, everyone somehow managed to cheer along to the tune.
