Although many cities have declared public smoking bans, prohibiting smoking indoors and on public patios, none have implemented laws that forbid cigarettes entirely... until now. Under a new amendment, Adelaide, in South Australia, would be the world's first "smoke free" city.
As great as it would be to have a city without any smokers 365 days a year, the ban would likely only be active for one day of the year. Those who choose to spark up anyway would face a $200 penalty, the money going toward the Cancer Council.
