Abbott Laboratories Announced Its 'Lingo' Line of Wearables

'Abbott Laboratories' has announced an upcoming line of diabetes-focused health wearables named 'Lingo.' The Lingo line was created with "diabetes as the first priority," so Abbot Laboratories selected four key areas of health for the device to measure. These areas are the levels of glucose, ketones, lactate, and alcohol in the wearer. These four metrics were selected due to each being closely related to metabolic health, and subsequently, weight control.
There will be separate devices in the Lingo line, each of which focuses on a different aspect of bodily health. For example, Abbott Laboratories will release monitors that focus specifically on ketone health, as these monitors would be widely applicable even to patients that are not managing diabetes. The Lingo monitors will connect to a mobile application, which allows for convenient viewing of health metrics.
Currently, Abbot Laboratories has not confirmed a price or release date for its Lingo line of health wearables.
