This may sound overly girly, but I love when office equipment gets to look like something cuter. That's why the USB DataSquid makes me happy.

The 8 gig USB data stick is hidden beneath a handmade wool squid. The USB is visible when you take off the squid's two long tentacles. The DataSquid is available online for $95 for sea-loving computer users.

Implications - The popularity of USBs has inspired many designers to get playful with the device by customizing it in creative ways. Many companies are imprinting images of themselves onto memory devices in order to attract consumers who are brand-obsessed. These businesses bring a playful element to portable technology products, allowing those outside of the tech industry to capitalize on this success.
