Gas masks as fashions statements… as our society becomes increasingly paranoid, could this safety accessory become a ubiquitously worn trend in the future? While we don’t see full on gas masks worn on the streets yet, many people in Asia are already wearing face masks to protect themselves from pollution or to guard against spreading germs. The image in the gallery shows a Japanese Harajuku girl sporting a gas mask as a fashion statement rather than a safety mechanism.
