The 2014 IKEA Catalogue and App Virtually Display Decor

Receiving the newest IKEA catalogue in the mail is always exciting, but the 2014 IKEA catalogue will bring a bigger smile to your face than usual. IKEA is launching an Augmented Reality mobile app that will enable consumers to visualize how IKEA products will look in their homes. Using this app, consumers are able to virtually see how 90 products will look amidst their own existing furnishings and decor.

When buying furniture, scale is an incredibly important factor—this is where the 2014 IKEA catalogue comes in. IKEA came up with an ingenious way to assure that its products are presented at the correct size. The app measures the size of the catalogue in comparison to the surrounding room and its elements to ensure that the virtual furnishings are as true to real life as they can be.

The app will be available on August 25th for iOS and Android devices, just in time for back to school shopping.
