Drive-Through Bottle Shops

In a recent vacation in Queensland, Australia, I noticed several drive-thru liquor stores, or “bottle shops” as they call them there.  I had only seen this type of drive-through convenience at a liquor store once before, in a small town outside Knoxville, Tennessee, while on a business trip. 

This made me wonder whether such convenience would be common, or even legal in other areas, so I resorted to a Google search, where I learned they were most common in the Southern United States.
