Moving $1 Homes

Iconic 'Lieb House' Rescued from Wrecking Ball by Relocation

The ‘Lieb House’ was designed by famed architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown. The architectural icon is being moved 95-miles via barge from New Jersey to a new home on Long Island in order to save it from being demolished.

The house sold for the bargain price of $1, but relocation will cost in excess of $100,000, still a bargain for an architectural work of art.

The new owners, Deborah Sarnoff and Robert Gotkin, are pictured in the first photo, and the architects, Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, in the last photo in the gallery above.
