The work of Alex Prager, which you can see for yourself at the Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York from Feb 12 - March 28, is lighter but still disturbing. There’s a clear 1960’s influence. Hitchcock is another word that pops to mind, but this is contemporary photography.
The models are very strange and the word used here is very accurate. They’re very detached from any sense of reality, creating a unique and surreal world that make these pictures very unique and intriguing.
