The Local Rock House by Pattersons Architecture is a beautiful summer home located on Waiheke Island in New Zealand. This island getaway has a pyrite rock and glass facade, and the back of the building looks directly onto the beautiful beach.
In the backyard lies a large pool with an outdoor dining table and a grotto that can be used as an outdoor cinema. One can look directly into the bottom level of the house with its glass exterior to see a kitchen and living room.
Waiheke Island is known for its white sandy beaches, vineyards and luxurious holidays homes. The island is full of pyrite rock and this building was inspired by the elements of the island. The combination of the open ocean-front terrace and the grotto create a sophisticated western vibe.
