These skulls by Dimitri Tsykalov show fruits and vegetables in a highly unexpected way. Expertly carved and put together, these deceased depictions use healthy ingredients in a way many people have never seen them before.
From lettuce to watermelon, no fruit was spared in the making of these bizarre creations. Almost more gruesome because of the medium used, these healthy-meets-undead mash-ups are as impressive as they are frightening. Perhaps the most alarming photo in the series is the one in which several watermelon skulls are featured atop one another, resembling the remnants of a massacre of some kind. Though this may be an argument against eating fruits and vegetables daily, it's also a testament to how well food can be adopted as an artistic medium.
Creative, and with a seemingly twisted mind, Tsykalov is sure to get plenty of attention for these bitter fruit and vegetable creations.
