The Laurent Chehere 'Flying Houses' Series is a captivating series that truly takes off. The series was created by France-based photographer Laurent Chehere. The photo manipulations sees residential buildings floating in the sky away from their regular environments. Gone are the crowds of people and surrounding architecture instead the buildings are surreally juxtaposed mid-flight.
Chehere's idea behind the series is how architecture is a metaphor for travel. And the floating structures are clearly paralleling this thought. Each building represents one of the varying conditions people are accustomed to traveling in. As you are gliding across the sky, the only solstice you have is in the house you are stuck in. From a on building a blaze with fire to a sweet suburban home, the collection provides a different journey for all.
