These vintage Chinese graphic designs by Lu Xun is from a book by Scott Minick and Jiao Ping entitled 'Chinese Graphic Design in the Twentieth Century'.
By looking at the images, viewers can pick up the sense of uprising, war and the transition period of China's olden days to a contemporary period. The works of writer and artist Lu Xun influenced many other artists in China with Western techniques. Xun took inspiration from German expressionists and was responsible for introducing modern woodblock techniques to China. Albeit the wave of Western influence Xun had brought to China, he made it a point to encourage Chinese designers to take inspiration from Chinese design history.
Lu Xun's retro illustrations is an amazing approach to graphic designs during his influential artisan period nearly 90 years ago.
