Designers Suhyun Yoo, Eunah Kim and Jinwoo Chae created this clever fuss-free electrical socket entitled The Donut Outlet. Conventional outlets require the user to line up the prongs of the plug to the corresponding holes. Sounds easy enough, but when an outlet is in a hard to reach place, which they often are, frustration starts to set in.
The Donut is unlike any other electrical socket because the plug is not required to be in any specific direction to plug in. All you need to know in order to plug in your favorite electronics is where the plug is. If The Donut Outlet design takes off there is also the possibility that it will eliminate the electronic capability issues that often arise when visiting a foreign country.
While convention may be the toughest hurdle to conquer for this design, The Donut Outlet is nonetheless an ingenious idea.
